  17. <p>    Starting a new job is nerve-racking enough, but if you're
  18. John F. Kennedy Jr., it can be a circus. The son of the late
  19. President was mobbed by the press last week on his first day at
  20. the Manhattan District Attorney's office. "This is
  21. embarrassing," said the novice assistant D.A., who was sworn in
  22. with 68 others. "I have to work with these people." He will
  23. earn $30,000 a year handling consumer-fraud and corruption
  24. cases. Before he settles into the job, he has had to clean up
  25. his own record. For one thing, he shelled out $2,357 for 62
  26. unpaid city parking tickets.
